Cheap Ideas for BDSM Play

While I've already written blogs on fun toys you can buy to help your BDSM fantasies become a reality, the toys can get sort of pricey. What if you and your honey want to have fun without creating a hole in your wallet? Read on!

I must pause to give a big thanks to the many experienced geniuses at Fetlife.com who posted these ideas.

The following can be found at any Target or dollar store. (Don't shop at Wal-Mart!) They shouldn't cost more than a few dollars each.

For Spanking:
*wooden spoons
*hairbrush
*plastic spatula
*bamboo poles
*fly swatters
*electric fly swatters (slightly more evil!)
*leather belts
*ping pong paddles
*long shoe horn
*wiffle ball bat
*ruler or yard stick

For Tying/Bondage:
*choke collars
*wide ribbon
*padlocks
*eletrical tape (only use it inside-out!)
*Ace bandages
*jump rope
*wrist weights
*scarves

For Insertion:
*non-porous toys (cleaned and sterilized!)
*flower vase (neck first!)
*Mardi Gra beads
*toy swords
*pirate hooks
*plastic artificial fruit

For Sensation Play:
*makeup brushes
*wooden (not plastic!) clips and clothesline pins
*candles with low wax melting points
*wisks
*different-textured gloves
*silly string
*soft balls (or cut a hole and insert it over end of vibrator)
*baby oil
*spray bottles
*water guns

For Age Play:
*leather belt
*bib
*bottles
*pacifiers
*children's toys

For Animal Play:
*dog and cat food dishes
*animal collars
*leashes and leads
*chew toys
*animal food

For Rape Play:
*see "Insertables" and "Bondage" sections
*cheap tanks and shorts to be ripped off
*surgical scissors (to safely cut off clothes)

Miscellaneous:
*antibacterial hand wash
*staple remover
*electric toothbrush (sneaky vibe)
*washable paint kit
*tarps
*shower curtains

Now, I shouldn't have to say this, but I will:

SAFETY FIRST!

You should NEVER try a toy on a sub before you try it out on yourself. Practice hitting on yourself or a pillow until you know exactly how hard to hit and your aim is accurate.

These toys are cheap and are not made for insertion or heavy spanking. Make sure you thoroughly check your toys before and after each use. If they show signs of wear, breakage, holes, or rough edges, don't use them! It would be terrible to have a toy splinter while inside your partner or while hitting.

Research your toys before you use them. Certain coatings or materials could be dangerous if inserted into genitals or mouth. Make sure you know what materials your toys are made of and how safe it is to use them before you play.
